    Tis a few years since I had mine but I did a bit on making it faster and lighter – probably sacrilege nowadays but then I was trying to keep up with Z1 and Z650.
    Twin could hold onto a Z1 and out run a Z650 – not sure I would do that to an engine nowadays.
    Anyway the easy trick I found for improved performance was fitting an exhaust cam as an inlet cam. Gave a bit more duration and lift and actually made the bike easier to start. I had dumped the electric start to save weight. Simply cut the tacho drive off, cam then just drops in, take care about fitting the sprocket and you have an instant tweak.
